About the Painting
The artwork is titled “Guardians of the Park” and is 76 cm x 101 cm. This work features acrylic paint on a stretched canvas (ready to hang). The subject of this painting captures the iconic jacarandas of Victoria Park in full bloom, their brilliant purple canopy spilling across the canvas in a celebration of Brisbane’s historic park. Beneath the trees, two children stand as quiet sentinels - a gentle reminder of the work’s title. Their presence symbolises both innocence and stewardship, a nod to the generations who will inherit this precious green space.
Rich in colour and layered with meaning, the painting balances natural beauty with a message of protection, honouring Victoria Park not just as a place of heritage, but as a living legacy for the future.
Proceeds from this auction will support efforts to preserve this vital green space for future generations. Don’t miss the chance to own a piece of art that celebrates one of Brisbane’s most culturally significant green spaces.
