to reopen the Victoria Park Road section of Victoria Park Barrambin

By signing this petition, I call on the Queensland Government and the Games Independent Infrastructure Coordination Authority (GIICA) to reopen the Victoria Park Road section of Victoria Park Barrambin.

Since 23 June 2026, this small section of Victoria Park Barrambin along Victoria Park Road has been fenced off from the local community (see the area highlighted in green above).

GIICA initially indicated that this section would reopen. It hasn’t.

More than three months later, no works have commenced in this area, yet the fences remain.

Meanwhile, more than 12,000 people in Kelvin Grove and Herston, two of Brisbane’s densest inner-city neighbourhoods, remain locked out of part of their local park.

There is no reason for this section of the park to remain closed. We call on GIICA to reopen it to the community now.
