Caring for Barrambin Day

A special day of culture, learning, solidarity and care for Barrambin Victoria Park is coming up on Saturday 16 May.

Hosted by the Yagara Magandgin Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC), the day will include a Welcome and smoking ceremony, cultural performances, speakers, tours and talks at the sacred spring, ancient trees and flowing waters, plus a range of activities across the day.

It is an opportunity to gather on sacred living Country to listen, learn, yarn and show support.

WHEN: Saturday 16 May 2026

TIME: 10am-2pm

WHERE: BBQ shelters, Herston Ridge, Barrambin Victoria Park, Magandjin (Brisbane)

ENTER VIA: Herston Road

BRING: BYO chairs or picnic blankets

The program includes cultural performances by Kaylah Coghill, Nunukul Yuggera and Gavin Tyson, speakers including Aunty Sandra King, Uncle Coco Wharton and others, and activities including mural art, a yarning circle, face painting and Greg Manning’s “Mausoleum to Language.”
