In July 2021, Brisbane was named the Host City for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The promise? An event grounded in sustainability, respect for the environment, and the inclusion of First Nations culture.

Fast forward to 2025 and we couldn’t be further away from this goal.

Like other host cities before it, Brisbane is facing the very real destruction of its precious natural environment for unmandated, multi-billion dollar Olympic infrastructure.

What we are seeing is history repeating itself. But this time, we were told things would be better.

Well rest assured, we will not give up.

We will not allow Victoria Park Barrambin to fall victim to Olympic opportunism and short-term political ambitions.

There is still time to recommit to the Games we were promised. But there really is not a moment to lose.
