“I feel awful for all the animals that will be losing their homes at Victoria Park / Barrambin, there are so many animals that are determined to stand their ground, like the spunky little curlews but they don’t stand a chance without our help. The curlew is also considered a significant species by the Brisbane City Council.
It’s beyond belief that a modern civilised city could contemplate destroying a park for a few weeks of the Olympics. I’m also deeply concerned about the destruction of habitat for local wildlife. I hope my paintings of some of the fauna of this precious place speak up for these voiceless creatures.”
