It indicates the interconnectedness of all aspects of life, the tree, human hands, the earth itself. It reminds us that we are the custodians and caretakers of the natural spaces around us. If we look closely into the textures of the bark, we can see ourselves reflected, with both our battle scars and new possibilities.“

Robyn Bauer is well known for her urban landscapes of the Brisbane area. She has had her own gallery in Paddington since 2005. She is a Fellow of the Royal Queensland Art Society and has been Artist-in-Residence at both the RNA Show and Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. Her work is represented in collections around the world.
